Equisetum variegatum (Variegated Horsetail) re-found at Ballyteige

Variegated Horsetail was recorded from Ballyteige area in 1973, 1987 & 1991. All three records gave just the hectad, which wasn't much help. I had no idea whether it was recorded from the dunes of Ballyteige Burrow which stretch for 9km or somewhere else in the hectad. I was walking along behind the dunes this evening looking at marsh-orchid when I noticed the horsetail. There is only one other site in the county. So pleased at last to have updated the record!
